Breaststroke - Elbow Hit Posted by Glenn Mills on Oct 26, 2007 08:06AM One of the perks of working at Go Swim is that we get to watch A LOT of video of some really great swimmers. After a while, certain images and movement patterns get imprinted into our heads, and when we head back to the pool it's only natural that we carry those images with us. One example is the image of Brendan Hansen's hig..

Breaststroke - Wide Pull
Breaststroke - Wide Pull Posted by Glenn Mills on Apr 20, 2007 08:04AM When young swimmers start to mature, and have a bit more muscle, it's time to start teaching them to catch more water. Wide-pull breaststroke is a good drill to help start the learning process. Why Do It: A wide pull allows you not only to connect with more water, but also to connect your upper body to the pull. It's really a..

Breaststroke - Breakout
Breaststroke - Breakout Posted by Glenn Mills on Apr 04, 2008 05:03AM Transferring, or merging your speed from pushoff to swim is a skill that you can never work on enough. Even in breaststroke, when you've already got so much to think about with the pushoff, pulldown, dolphin kick, recovery of the arms and legs, that first stroke can make or break races. The rule is simple, but timing it just r..
